An Islamic Cleric and Chief Imam of Kafin-Madaki Central Mosque in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Mallam Malami Muhammad Jatau has frowned on husbands beating their wives disguising in the name of moral modelling.

The Imam was speaking last Saturday shortly after Dawn prayers ( Subhi) said " moral modelling of your wife should include beating and other forms of molestations ''
He explained that the unguided utterances and behaviors of husbands against their wives is beyond imagination, hence the need for change.
'' Some husbands unguided behaviors and utterances causes a lot tension at home particularly with his wife or wives which in turns most of the times their rights are being denied, the weak one that's the woman suffers serious humiliation from the husbands, in which there is urgent need for an end to this barbaric behavior, it's clearly a gender based violence against our partners in progress''
He qouted some verses of glorious Qur'an and Hadith of the prophet that condemned such barbaric attitudes among Muslims.
Speaking on Maternal Health the Imam urges husbands to allow their wives to be attending clinics and maternities regularly, stressing that "doing that will ensure healthy family and can equally help in reducing maternal and child mortality''
