Atleast seven people have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway on Tuesday.

Although the police authorities in Kaduna state are yet to confirm the incident, an eyewitness told our correspondent that the gunmen blocked the road at about 4:30pm on Tuesday and intercepted several vehicles, after which they took seven people to an unknown destination.
Channel Television reports that among the kidnap victims are said to be three final year students of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

A commercial driver who escaped the attack, Jibrin Adamu, said the gunmen blocked a spot around Olam farm around 5:30 pm.
He added that the bandits later left the operation area after about 30 minutes when a team of the military chased them away.
Recall that in April, Mahmood Abubakar, chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), and his daughter were kidnapped on the road.

It was learned that the late pastor was returning from Abuja with his wife and his son on Sunday evening when the kidnappers struck and seized them.
