Bauchi State Government to commence the payments of outstanding gratuities in the state.
State Deputy Governor, Engr Nuhu Gidado said the Governor Abubakar administration has set modalities in motion to settle outstanding gratuities of retired civil servants in the State.
Gidado was speaking to newsmen shortly after Eid prayers at Ramat House, Bauchi, His Excellency, explained that the administration inherited a whooping N14bn in unpaid gratuities and pensions, as such, it is practically impossible to pay off the arrears in block.
He added that His Excellency the Governor, has earmarked a large chunk of the Paris Club Refund to payments of gratuities.
The Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on Communications, Yakubu Adamu quoted the Acting Governor calling on Muslim faithful in the state to imbibe the values of sacrifice, love and to also continue to foster unity as they join their counterparts the world over in celebrating this year’s Eid-El Kabir festival.
