Bauchi State Government Distributes Relief Items to Flood Victims in Shira LG

Bauchi State Government has distributed 11 million worth relief items to the flood victims in Faggo village, Shira Local Government Area of the State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the  Special adviser to Bauchi State Governor on Communication Shamsudeen Lukman Abubakar.

Presenting the materials to the victims, the State Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar said the gesture is part of his administration responsibility to provide succor to affected individuals and communities affected by disaster.

He said the State  government will take all necessary precautions and carry out preventive measures to avoid disaster rather than looking for remedies.

While inspecting some of the effected areas, Governor  Abubakar expressed deep sympathy with the flood victims while assuring them of his administration's readiness to tackle the challenge.

 Meanwhile on his part , the Head of Administration Shira local Government Alhaji Kabiru Marafa explained that 3 communities were affected by the disaster.

He expressed his joy for the kind gesture of the  Governor towards the victims and urged them judiciously utilise the materials.


The Director Relief matters State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf Kobi described natural disasters as unavoidable and urged people of the area to take precautions against flooding by planting trees and creating water ways.

Items distributed include bags of maize, rice, millet, sugar, salt, cartons of spaghetti, indomie noodles, gallons of palm and groundnut oil, wrapper pieces, bags of cement, bundles of roofing sheets, mats, blankets among others.
